Sportac C&J Honda
Started by Jeff Cole and Steve Jentges in Santa Ana, California as a specialist frame builder, replacing the inadequate frames that the Japanese and American bike manufactures were producing with 4130 chrome moly specialist frames, they have been an American legend and leaders for over 30 years.
Their customers read like the history of dirt racing and there has not been any other frame builder to match their very impressive record. Using their simple philosophy K.I.S (keep it simple) they have been AMA flat track winning frame builders since 1984 to the present day.
Brad Lackeys U.S team Kawasaki KX450 and all team ISDT KX450 in 73. Al Baker and Gene Cannady, overall winners of the BAJA 1000 in 75. All Bill Bells (owner of long beach Honda) team Honda from 1974 to custom framed works bikes were outlawed in U.S motocross in 86. Scott Parkers Harley Davidson and Kenny Roberts Rotax and more and more of the original HL500 built by Profab are coming to light with 'state of California frame plates' meaning that infact they were C&J.
The Honda 500 frame was made taking the winning dimensions of the 79 CR250 and replacing the engine with a 500 four stroke. Making a winning combination in its class. Weight has been as low as 217Lbs but average build was between 230-240Lbs making them very competitive with 2 stroke bikes and lighter than most other 4 strokes.
Sportac. A company producing professional race leathers and associated with motorsport for over 30 years, have commissioned a leading competition specialist frame builder to manufacture a limited number of reproduction C&J frames.
They will be built to the highest standard and as close to the original as possible. Using the Honda XL/XR 500 engine, CR250 tank, seat and yokes. Maico forks and front wheel.
Falcon Shock Absorbers have built a set of Evo Piggy Back shocks matched to the frame to make the handling at a premium.
All other info on parts and fitting will be supplied if needed.
